Hitchin Camera Club is a member of the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies (EAF). The EAF holds annual events including inter club competitions, two of which will take place in the near future.

The Projected Digital Images competition will take place 11.00 Sunday 9th February at The Fulbourn Centre, Home End, Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5BS. The AGM of the EAF will also take place on the same day prior to the competition.

The Printed Images completion will take place 10.45 Sunday 8th March at the The Fulbourn Centre, Home End, Fulbourn, Cambridge CB21 5BS.

Tickets for the events are £8.50 each and if anyone is interested in attending please contact Terry Linton.

The EAF 2020 Annual exhibition will be held at Wingfield Barns, Church Road, Wingfield, Eye, Suffolk IP21 5RA. The exhibition will be open from Saturday 2nd May to Sunday 17th May, excluding both Mondays and Tuesdays. The opening times are from 11.00 to 16.00 except for the 17th when it closes at 13.00.

The EAF will be holding another PAGB APM Advisory Day for PDIs and Prints on Sunday, 6th September 2020. This almost annual event has proved very popular and in 2019 they’re was 53 applications for applicants and observers, the most ever, which goes to show they are much in demand from the EAF membership. The full details and application forms will appear on the Federation website on Saturday, 8th February 2020, prior to the AGM, so check your diaries in readiness as this year as the list is already half-full in only 6 weeks.

The second event is a proposed Audio-Visual Advisory Workshop to be held on Sunday, 1st November 2020. This is a new venture for the EAF, in response to requests. The EAF hope to get support from those Federation members who have an interest in the  Audio-Visual medium and possibly from neighbouring federations, if numbers permit.  The plan is to hold a workshop-based, PicturesToExexe day with the additional option of advice for those members considering  APM/AV accreditation.

Because this is a new venture, the EAF have been gauging demand to decide if numbers are sufficient to proceed.  If this does go ahead, full details will appear on the Federation website on Saturday, 8th February 2020.

Details on these events and a wealth of information is available on the EAF website.
