One of the projects I work on every year is the Hitchin Calendar, and I’m pleased to announce the 2020 calendar goes on sale from Saturday the 2nd November.
I’ll be there for the launch on the 2nd so pop down to the town square and say hello!
I’ve been shooting the 7 year’s now and each year has theme. So far we’ve covered;
- 2014 – Hidden Hitchin
- 2015 – Mini Worlds
- 2016 – The old and the new
- 2017 – Monochrome Hitchin
- 2018 – Hitchin at Dusk
- 2019 – Hitchin at Ground level
And the theme for 2020 is … Retro postcards!
Over the past 18 months I’ve been shooting images of modern day Hitchin, but processing them to resemble postcards from the 1920’s and 30’s.
The calendar is priced at just £7, and can be brought from a stall in the town square on Saturdays, or through the Initiative office in Church Yard walk. The money raised from the calendar sales goes towards the Christmas lights and flower displays you see around the town in the summer.
This year though in addition to the calendar the Hitchin Initiative will be selling the postcards that feature on the calendar as “postcards“, which will be available at the initiative office too.
Due to the awful weather on the 2nd (and the fact we ended up chasing a gazebo across the town square) we’ve deferred the official launch, however the calendar and post cards are available at the Hitchin Initiative office NOW,
