For our second meeting of 2017 our chairman Andy Hyde continued the series of presentations he’s been giving on flash. In this presentation Andy worked with Steve Granger and together they took the technical aspects of how to control your flash remotely that we learnt about in the first session and put this to practical use.
Using a number of volunteers from the audience Andy demonstrated different lighting set-ups. These included showing the limitations of on camera flash, and what could be done with one or two flashes and a reflector.
During the evening Andy showed a number of standard lighting set-ups including Rembrant lighting, broad and narrow lighting, and the classic 3 light portrait. To round the evening off Andy and Steve set-up a Halloween shot using backlit smoke.
