Scavenger Hunt images from 2023

As usual the Scavenger Hunt was a popular event with more than 20 members (and a couple of guests) turning up to meeting a St Mary’s. After a brief introduction Andy handed out the sheets of paper describing the 25 subjects, which were received with a mix of both approving and disapproving noises and some definite groans – well what do you expect if one of the subjects was “air”.

After some cooperative snapping of each other to achieve the easy subjects everyone disappeared into the evening in search of their images.

For the next hour and half little huddles of photographers could been darting around town trying not to give away their answers to challenging subjects, but equally being keen to see how each other had tackled the task. As the light faded, the photographers became a rarer sight as they all disappeared into the pub.

Once in the pub, the freshly renovated Coopers Arms in Tilehurst Street, various excited discussions ensued about how the photographer had tackled different subjects, the pros and cons of film Vs Digital, great locations to visit, styles of wedding photography, the quality of the beer and exactly how many grams Martin’s camera weighed. Finally the last stalwarts were thrown out of the pub and the evening came to an end.

This year’s Scavenger Hunt, our 5th, turned out to be one of the most enjoyable with challenging subjects, dry weather and our members enjoying each other’s company.

Here you’ll find images from the evening.
