Here’s an update from Jeremy who was once again leading an excellent evening.

We met at 7:00 and initially walked over to the other side of the hill looking down towards Barton where there was a field of very colourful wild flowers and good views. A few then went to the woods and the rest headed back and spent the rest of the evening where we did last year, just down the hill from the carpark, where we found lots of roosting chalkhill blues.

The sunset was a little disappointing this year  but I think everyone had fun trying to compose shots of the butterflies amongst the grass and wild flowers, experimenting with tripods, flash and LED lights to supplement the lowering natural light.

We then enjoyed a good pint at the Chequers pub in Sharpenhoe.

Thanks again to Jeremy for leading.

Our next event…Baldock!

Our event over the summer will be an evening trip to Baldock, if you’d like to come you can read all about it here
