Hexton Chalk Pit butterflies, and wild flowers, led by Jeremy

This should be an excellent evening with one of our most talented wildlife photographers sharing one of his favourite locations. We’ll be photographing wild flowers, butterflies, crickets/grasshoppers, lots of other insects, and likely some red kites and buzzards overhead.

  • Meet at 7pm outside the Raven Pub, Mill Lane, Hexton (plenty of parking along this road)
  • Walk to Hexton Chalk Pit. This involves crossing the B655 (Barton Road) and a short (200m) walk up Hexton Road towards Lilley to the path leading to HCP.
n.b. This road has no pavement and cars come down the hill fast so great care must be taken.
For anyone arriving late HCP is not signed from the road but is found by following a path from a metal gate in a wooden fence on the left approx 200m from the crossroads. Again please take care.

Followed by the Raven Pub at Hexton about 9:00
