Simon Maddison had a photo published on the readers/letters page of the Guardian on 16 Feb
The cigarette bin is in the Market place just before the arch going into the Churchgate Development
Simon’s text beside the image in the Guardian reads:
“Fag End of Brexit: I regularly shoot in my home town of Hitchin. I came across this on 21 January and it seemed to completely illustrate the stage the divided country is at”
Simon decided not to crop it tightly but to include the stickers etc. on the right as he felt this added to the general scruffy seedy feel of the bin
