“Summer” Event – 29th DECEMBER 2018 @10:00 Photo-walk around Oughton Common and Head

Those of you who attended our Summer Event programme this year will remember that our trips out and about on a Thursday evening to “do photography” were very successful with a number of people being introduced to the club and subsequently becoming members, and for our  existing members it gave the change to get out and try somewhere new.

Well, following a number of requests we’ve organised a “Summer Event for December”! The event will be on the Saturday morning between Christmas and New Year and we’ll be taking a walk around Oughton Common Conservation area up to Oughton Head itself.

Being winter I’d advise suitable clothing for the weather, and in particular walking boots or similar because it can/will be muddy. During the walk (which is about 2 1/2 miles) well discover one of Hitchin’s well kept secrets, we’ll see the weir and the river, and have the opportunity to explorer the woodland Fenland and other habitats.

Afterwards, we’ll go to the Flume of Feathers in Ickleford for a refreshing drink (and the chance to warm up)!

Date: Saturday 29th December
Time: 10:00 AM
Where: Top of Westmill Lane (off the A600 Bedford Road) opposite Turnpike Lane.
