On Wednesday 18th July the Garden House Hospice hosted a golf day at Letchworth Golf Club. The Hospice was chosen as the club captain’s charity for 2018 and he set some interesting challenges for the large number of people who took part.
The teams set off with a shotgun start, with each team of four starting at a different hole on the course. A number of individual prizes were nominated on various holes but the big challenge came at the 18th Hole. This was designated a speed hole with the teams competing to see who could complete the hole in the quickest time. This involved the team staging themselves from the tee, along the fairway and on the green. With some golfers running up the course there was some innovative and skilful golf undertaken.
After the players had finished the course they enjoyed a dinner followed by a very well supported auction of generous donations from a number of different organisations and individuals.
