Those of you who have attended the camera club for even a little while will have quickly realised that within the club we have both professional and amateur photographers. One of our “semi-professionals” our chairman Andy Hyde recently announced that one of his projects recently came to fruition.
For the past 5 years Andy has been working with the Hitchin Historical Society shooting the Hitchin Initiative Calendar and the 2018 calendar has just gone on sale!
Every year the calendar features 13 shots taken in and around Hitchin to a particular theme, for example in 2015 the calendar featured “Mini-worlds”, in 2016 the calendar images merged historic postcards with the modern day view from the same point.
Hitchin at Dusk
The 2018 Calendar features images under the title “Hitchin at Dusk”, here’s a typical page. Each page is sponsored by a local company, and contains interesting “historical” facts about the area shown. On the Back cover you’ll find a map showing where each of the photos were taken.
Calendars can be purchased for just £6, with the profits going to the Hitchin Initiative, and will be sold at various times in the Town square by members of the Historical Society, or can be purchased from the Initiative office in Churchyard Walk.
