HCC Promotional Event – Update

Andy    September 9, 2017

As planned, a number of club members held a promotional event for Hitchin Camera Club in the town square on the 9th September.

As Tony and I arrived just after 9:00 we were delighted to find the town square bathed in beautiful sunshine and Terry, Steve and Rob hard at work assembling print stands and laying out photos. For the event we’d arranged to have a couple of gazebos in the town square. This gave us plenty of room for a couple of print stands, 2 tables of photos and space for the promotional banner which the club has recently purchased.

During the course of the day we had a large number of people stop and look at the photos on display, and we took the opportunity to speak to as many people as possible, to tell them about the club. It was also great to see several club members made the effort to come into town to support us.

By having photos from several different club members on display, and a number of committee members manning the stand I think we were able to give a really good impression of what the club is like, and the depth and breadth experience of our members.

I think this was an excellent event, and has done a great deal to promote the club in the town! Hopefully we’ll see a number of newcomers joining the club this year.

I’d like to thank; Tony, Steve, Tom and Emma for helping to man the stand, and would like to give particular thanks to Terry for doing the leg work to get the stand organised, and to Rob for the excellent handouts. Andy Hyde
